Practices for wellbeing

What I do to manage wellbeing

We all dived into this new year so eager for the calendar to change the way we were living. But it didn’t, it couldn’t and so many of us tumbled into confusion and frustration, suffering anxiety and restless nights.

I wonder what would happen were you to accept and embrace the way things are, learn to flow with, rather than fight against this tide. If you could, would you to take a moment, pause, maybe close your eyes and ask yourself how are you today? Give yourself permission to be truthful, to connect in with your heart, don’t be afraid to really see yourself, look honestly.

I know you are trying so hard to be brave, grateful and to smile. I know you wake everyday planning to change those bad habits that have sneaked up on you. That as the day unfolds, you turn towards them against your hearts advice, to soothe your mind and breaks your heart a little.

I want you to know it’s okay. Your mind is seeking to keep you safe, to let go of uncertainty and prevent risk. But without growth we die, without risk we don’t grow. I know you have the strength and ability to fully live.

In conversation with some college friends, I was reminded of my younger years. Years of no responsibility and self-indulgence, living moment by moment, pay-check to pay-check with no concern for anyone but myself.

We are all the same, we had dreams, ideas, images of how life would turn out…
Life evolves, we take on responsibilities, climb career paths, take on mortgages, we may marry, maybe have children, we may be alone, we may have been delt a few tough struggles, too many difficult times.

As responsibility mounts, our concerns grow for everyone else and we put our own needs so far down our list, it leads to resentment, anger and burnout.

My life pivoted over 22 years ago. The stress of managing a 650 seater restaurant in Times Square, NYC, pushed me to my edge (now that’s a story for another day!) I turned from unhealthy coping mechanisms, beer and cigarettes and discovered Reiki, Meditation and Yoga. They have saved my mind and given me the tools to fight my negative talk, self-sabotage and self-deprecation.

I believe we are not here by chance and that each of us has something to say, to offer this beautiful world. I believe my offering is to guide to you understanding what yours is.
The practices I work with are reminders of ways to love ourselves back into our lives;

Yoga asana (physical movement) Practiced for the purpose of making ready your body for meditation. But also teaching you to feel and sense your body as it changes.

Meditation practiced to look inward, a reminder you are not your thoughts. Dive into delta waves and open up to the infinite possibilities available to you, than can be blocked by our conscious thinking.

Wellbeing coaching; the practice of working with someone (me!) who questions your limiting beliefs and works with you to build a stronger mindset and self- believe with compassion and humility. Developing appreciation for all that life has given you and optimism for your brighter future

Reiki: working with your essence, to balance the life force energy that moves through in and around you in every moment. Distance healing available

You know you are meant for more than what is now happening.
I can help; I can support you, work with you and guide you back to your truth.
I believe you are worth looking after, even if you do not!!
